If you’re still reeling from the massive revelations in Silo Season 3, you already know the stakes have never been higher for Daniel and Helen. But when asked what actually made their devastating, centuries-spanning journey click, Ashley Zukerman pointed straight to one game-changing moment that started it all.
The Exact Moment Ashley Zukerman Knew Silo Season 3 Would Work
Speaking with Collider alongside co-star Jessica Henwick about Silo Season 4, Zukerman was asked which moment from filming Season 3 he’d always remember. His response pointed straight back to where his character Daniel and Henwick’s Helen first met on screen.
“The truth is my favorite scene is still that first scene we did in Season 2,” Zukerman said. “We didn’t know each other, and we sort of saw very quickly that things were happening here and we could understand how we could do this big thing together.”
That scene, a first date between Daniel Keene and reporter Helen Drew set in the aftermath of a dirty bomb attack, closed out Silo Season 2 and introduced both characters ahead of their expanded roles in Season 3. For Zukerman, the chemistry that carried both seasons was evident from that very first take.
“We knew what we were going to have to do together, so the stakes were really high for that scene,” he added.
Zukerman also reflected on the broader experience of shooting the season, describing it as demanding but deeply meaningful across the ensemble.
“It was just a very special, profound experience. All the members of the cast, everyone was just really special. We all really wanted to tell this story well, and we did,” he added.
He added that he isn’t sure when he’ll actually sit down to watch the finished season himself, joking that revisiting ten months of work compressed into ten episodes feels daunting.
Silo Season 4, the show’s final season, is currently in the works, with Zukerman and Henwick expected to return as the story moves toward its conclusion.
