“Oh, yeah there’s a whole plan we’ve been working on since Spider-Man: No Way Home. I have a really clear vision for passing the baton. I think it’s really exciting. That’s the thing I want to do most with this character,” Holland said.
That’s a striking admission. Holland isn’t just entertaining the idea, he’s describing an active plan that’s been in motion since No Way Home finished production, one of the biggest Spider-Man films ever made.
The multiverse chaos of that movie cracked the door open for exactly this kind of crossover, and it sounds like Holland and the creative team have been walking through it ever since.
What makes this especially exciting for fans is the tone Holland used. He didn’t frame this as a contractual obligation or a distant hypothetical. He called it the thing he wants to do most with the character, which suggests Peter Parker’s story arc is being built with Miles Morales’ eventual arrival as the endgame, not an afterthought.
Marvel and Sony have remained quiet about any official Miles Morales casting news for the live-action MCU, but Holland’s comments confirm the groundwork is already there. The only question now is when that vision becomes reality on screen.
