Cristin Milioti has closed the door on a comeback fans have been asking about since The Penguin ended.
Sofia Falcone’s story left off with her locked in Arkham, holding a letter from her half-sister Selina Kyle. It felt like tat thread was building toward something, and with The Batman Part II now filming, the obvious question was whether Milioti would get to finish it.

Speaking with ComicBookMovie while promoting her new horror film Buddy, Milioti was asked directly if there’s any chance of a return.
“There’s not a chance you’ll see me in it, sadly,” she said.
She didn’t leave it there, though. Milioti added that she’d jump back into the role the moment she got the call, saying she’d “go back to that world in a heartbeat.” For now, that call hasn’t come.
The timing lines up with what’s already known about the sequel’s cast. Colin Farrell is set for only a handful of scenes as Oz Cobb, and Zoë Kravitz’s Catwoman isn’t appearing at all. With The Penguin still without a Season 2 renewal from HBO, Sofia’s arc has nowhere left to continue right now, on television or on screen.

This isn’t the first time Milioti has been asked about crossing over into Matt Reeves’ film universe. Back when she won a Critics’ Choice Award for the role, she called returning as Sofia her “wildest dream” and said the filmmakers behind The Batman keep their plans tightly under wraps.
“I would love nothing more,” Cristin Milioti said, as quoted by Sportskeeda. “It’s my wildest dream. The day they call, I’ll be there.”
Milioti has also spoken about wanting to share the screen with Kravitz’s Catwoman specifically, telling Deadline last year that the two characters could “get into some real sh*t” if Reeves ever wrote them into the same scene.
Milioti won an Emmy, a Critics’ Choice Award, and a Saturn Award for the role, turning a fairly minor comic book character into one of the franchise’s most talked-about performances. That track record is exactly why the door being closed stings as much as it does.
Buddy opened in theaters on Friday, August 28, while The Batman Part II is currently shooting in Glasgow, with a release date set for 2027.
