Milly Alcock is just days away from her debut as Kara Zor-El, and she’s already winning over fans with her superhero opinions. During a recent appearance on Kid Cudi’s “Big Bro” podcast, the Supergirl star was put through a rapid-fire round of questions about her favorite DC and Marvel actors. One answer in particular has fans talking.

Alcock is stepping into one of the most scrutinized roles in the DC Universe at a time when superhero casting decisions are picked apart in real time. So when Kid Cudi asked her to weigh in on the best actors to ever play iconic heroes and villains, fans were eager to see where her loyalties lie, especially with her own DC debut on the horizon.

Milly Alcock Picks Christian Bale as Her Favorite Batman

When the conversation turned to Batman, Alcock named Christian Bale as the best actor to play the role, with the simple reasoning: “He’s Christian Bale.”

It’s a sentiment plenty of fans share. Bale’s run as Bruce Wayne across Christopher Nolan’s trilogy, Batman Begins, The Dark Knight, and The Dark Knight Rises, is still widely regarded as the gold standard. A RadioTimes poll backed that up, with Bale capturing over 40 percent of the vote for best on-screen Batman, well ahead of Michael Keaton and Adam West.

Bale wasn’t the only pick that caught the segment’s attention. Alcock also named Heath Ledger as her favorite Joker, Michelle Pfeiffer as her favorite Catwoman, Andrew Garfield as her favorite Spider-Man, and Mark Ruffalo as her favorite Hulk. Her Garfield pick, in particular, has been making the rounds online, especially amid renewed talk of his potential return to the role.

When it came to Superman, Alcock didn’t shy away from the obvious. She named her Supergirl co-star David Corenswet as her favorite, joking that picking anyone else might cost her the job, before admitting that meeting him in person convinced her he was simply born for the role.

With Supergirl hitting theaters on June 26, Alcock’s press run has been a mix of fun moments like this one and more serious conversations about how female actors are treated in the superhero space. For now, though, fans are just happy to know her taste in Batman lines up with theirs.
