Théo Christine plays Raoul Diop in Part 4, the son of Assane Diop (Omar Sy) and Claire (Ludivine Sagnier). He takes over from Etan Simon, who played Raoul in Parts 1 through 3, because the new season picks up four years after the Part 3 finale and the boy viewers remember is now a young adult.

Raoul has sat at the center of the show’s biggest stakes since the beginning. In Part 1, a hit man sent to kill Assane kidnapped him during a birthday trip to a famous Lupin-related location. In Part 2, Assane teamed up with detective Youssef Guédira to track him down, and Claire refused to let Assane see him afterward.

Christine is a French actor born in 1996, known for Skam France and the superhero series Supacell, and he had a lead role in the 2023 horror film Infested. He also appeared in the 2020 comedy drama My Best Part. Variety reported that he is attached to Ladj Ly’s upcoming adventure film Dumas: Black Devil opposite Sy, so the two have already worked together outside the series.

By the end of Part 3, Assane had stolen the Black Pearl, faked his own death and saved his mother’s life. He then realized the only way to guarantee a safe, quiet life for Claire, Raoul, his mother and his best friend was to hand himself over to the police. That sacrifice is what leaves him behind bars when Part 4 begins.

Netflix’s synopsis ties Raoul directly to Assane’s state of mind. Four years into his sentence, Assane has given up on Lupin entirely, and the one thing he wants is to serve out his time and keep the promise he made to his son to go and meet their family in Senegal. Claire is back as well, and a first-look photo from Episode 5 pairs Christine with Sagnier.

What Pulls Assane Back in Lupin Part 4

The plan falls apart because of a copycat. Here is how Netflix describes it:

“But his plans are turned upside down by a mysterious announcement signed by ‘Lupin’: Multiple museums are to be hit with simultaneous heists. In spite of heightened security, the thefts go off as planned. Assane proclaims his innocence, but everything points to his guilt. A camera even shows him in one of the museums during a robbery in which Captain Belkacem is seriously injured. To prove his innocence and unmask the copycat, Assane must escape and don the Lupin costume once more.”

With Belkacem hurt and the footage pointing at him, Assane goes from a man waiting out his sentence to the prime suspect in a crime wave. Netflix has not said how that affects the Senegal promise or whether he and Raoul reunite on screen, and the trailer teases a meeting between the two without showing where it happens.

Sy has a bigger hand in the show this time as well, serving as showrunner alongside Louis Leterrier while his Carrousel Studios co-produces. He has been open about how much the role means to him, telling Netflix:

“I often say that Lupin is an extraordinary plaything. I find great joy in it every time.”

Netflix has not revealed how deeply Raoul gets pulled into the copycat plot, and Laïka Blanc-Francard’s role is still under wraps. All eight episodes of Lupin Part 4 arrive on Netflix on October 23, so we will see how Christine’s Raoul fits in soon enough.
