Meghan Markle is facing an unwelcome family headline just days after her first joint public engagement with Prince Harry in Nottingham England, where the couple received a vert walm welcome.
According to The Sun, Meghan’s estranged father, Thomas Markle Sr., 82, is under investigation in the Philippines after his son, Thomas Markle Jr., allegedly discovered a large collection of child abuse images and videos at his home in Cebu. The paper reports that Markle Jr., Meghan’s half-brother, contacted local police and is also said to have contacted the FBI.
Authorities are reportedly preparing to seize the evidence, but details of the investigation and any potential charges have not been confirmed. A source quoted by The Sun linked the allegation to Meghan’s long estrangement from her father:
“Now maybe people will finally understand why she has had nothing to do with her father since 2018,” they said.
Meghan and Markle Sr. have been estranged since the period around her 2018 wedding to Prince Harry, and the timing is awkward for the Duchess of Sussex. She and Harry returned to Britain on August 26 with Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet after six years in California, and made their first joint appearance in Nottingham on October 15, which which left them thrilled.

Thomas Markle Jr. Found ‘Thousands’ of Child Abuse Images on Meghan Markle’s Father

Markle Sr. has said he has not spoken to his daughter since 2018, having made the comment in an interview with the Daily Mail while recovering from a leg amputation in Cebu. He aslo added that he hopes to meet Prince Harry and the couple’s two children “before it’s all over.”
However, Markle Sr. was forced to leave the house in May and return to the US after suffering a stroke and a blood clot, which led to the amputation of his left leg. He allegedly left behind a large stash of material packed into storage boxes.

That is how Markle Jr. is said to have come across it, uncovering four large boxes from storage that contained “hundreds, if not thousands” of child sex abuse images mixed in with innocent family mementos.
The paper describes a 15-minute video of girls who appeared to be no older than 10 or 11, along with still photographs of girls of about the same age. It also reports that a picture of Meghan addressing an event about child abuse at the United Nations was found on the same hard drive as some of the images.
Now, Inter-Agency Council Against Trafficking appointed a task force run by the Women and Children’s Protection Centre on Thursday, with the FBI having confirmed the receipt of the affidavit’s contents. Meanwhile, Markle Sr. is now in a nursing and rehabilitation centre in Florida.
