One Piece Chapter 1185 left fans with a lot to process. After spending several chapters inside Brook’s flashback, Oda delivered one of the darkest origin stories of the entire Final Saga, and Chapter 1186 picks up right where that devastation ends.
Chapter 1185 turned what initially felt like a peaceful royal flashback into one of the darkest stories of the Final Saga. A poisonous fog spread across Esperia, devastating its music-based economy, claiming Candelle’s life, and pushing the kingdom into financial collapse.
Because Esperia could no longer pay the Heavenly Tribute demanded by the World Government, the government demanded 1,000 citizens as slaves in lieu of payment. Reuven refused to comply and chose war. The chapter ended on a chilling image of Shuri stabbing Reuven, both characters showing signs of transformation that pointed directly at Imu’s influence. Then the break hit. Now Chapter 1186, titled “Once More,” is here, and Oda does not ease fans back in gently.

The chapter opens with a cover page showing Young Loki drawing Ida. Inside, the Esperia flashback closes out with brutal efficiency. Gunko killed King Leuven to end the war in the Esperia Kingdom, and the chapter reveals that Gunko’s biological father is God’s Knight Manmayer Growlo, the figure seen smoking in the last chapter, notably sharing the same distinctive eyes as Gunko.
Gunko then stabs Brook in the head and leaves the kingdom with her father. Brook survives, but the trauma is so severe that he convinces himself the entire ordeal was a dream.
That detail is quietly one of the most heartbreaking things Oda has written in a while. Brook’s signature cheerfulness, his ability to laugh through anything, now has a specific origin wound underneath it.
The flashback then closes, and the chapter returns to the present, dropping readers back into the Imu vs Loki battle on Elbaf. Imu begins speaking about events from 800 years ago, a thread that connects directly to the Void Century and the deepest unanswered questions in the entire series. Fans who have been waiting for Oda to finally start cracking that mythology open will want to pay close attention here.
And then the final page lands. Luffy arrives at the battlefield where Imu and Loki are fighting and punches Imu directly in the face, in a moment the spoilers compare to his infamous punch on Charlos at Sabaody Archipelago.
That comparison is not a small one. The Charlos punch was a defining moment for Luffy’s character and a turning point for the Straw Hats’ place in the world. Doing the same to Imu, arguably the single most powerful figure in the One Piece universe, carries a completely different level of weight.
One Piece Chapter 1186 drops officially on June 28, 2026, on Manga Plus and Viz Media.
