Most people know Dua Lipa. Far fewer know the man she just quietly married in London. That’s about to change.
On May 31, 2026, Dua Lipa and actor Callum Turner tied the knot in an intimate civil ceremony at Old Marylebone Town Hall. It was low-key by design: just a handful of close friends, family, yellow flowers, and two people in love.
From Chelsea to the Wizarding World: Callum Turner’s Career So Far
Turner was born in Hammersmith and raised in Chelsea, London, by his single mother, who worked as a club promoter. He left school at 16, tried semi-professional football, then fell into modeling, landing campaigns with Burberry and Reebok. He later admitted he wasn’t exactly setting the modeling world on fire. Acting, it turned out, was a different story.
His breakout moment came when he was cast as Theseus Scamander, Newt’s older brother, in the Fantastic Beasts franchise. Two films in the Wizarding World, a BAFTA TV nomination for the British thriller The Capture, and a role in George Clooney’s The Boys in the Boat followed. But it was Masters of the Air on Apple TV+ in early 2024 that properly put him on the map globally. He played Major John “Bucky” Egan opposite Austin Butler, and the show was the kind of serious, prestige drama that made audiences sit up and take notice.
He has three films in 2025 alone: the A24 romantic comedy Eternity alongside Miles Teller and Elizabeth Olsen, Rose of Nevada, and Atropia. He is also set to lead Apple TV+’s adaptation of Neuromancer, William Gibson’s landmark cyberpunk novel, as a “damaged, top-rung super-hacker.” The next few years are going to keep him very busy.
The Book, the Restaurant, and the Ring
The love story is genuinely good. Turner and Lipa first met at The River Cafe in London, introduced by the restaurant’s co-founder Ruthie Rogers. Lipa was there with her father. Nothing came of it immediately. Then, months later, in Los Angeles, Turner walked into a restaurant where Lipa was having lunch with a friend. He noticed she was reading the same book he was: Trust by Hernán Díaz. That was the spark.
By early 2024, they were spotted at the Masters of the Air premiere together. By July 2024, Lipa posted photos from Glastonbury, making things Instagram official. By Christmas, eagle-eyed fans had spotted a diamond ring. Turner had designed it himself, with input from Lipa’s sister and closest friends. When she confirmed the engagement to British Vogue, she said she was “obsessed with it” and that it was “so me.”
On Sunday, they made it official. Lipa wore a custom Schiaparelli ivory skirt suit designed by Daniel Roseberry. Turner arrived in a custom Ferragamo double-breasted navy suit. A larger celebration is reportedly planned in Palermo, Sicily.
