When Lainey Wilson got engaged to former NFL quarterback Devlin Hodges in February 2025, one question immediately overshadowed all the others: How much did that ring cost?
It’s an understandable obsession. The ring is enormous.
The Proposal
Hodges proposed on February 12, 2025, on the porch of the former estate of late country legend George Jones in Franklin, Tennessee. The setting looked straight out of a country love song: glowing candles, framed photographs hanging at the entrance, and red roses covering nearly every surface.
Wilson leaned fully into the moment. In the engagement video, she joked that the ring was so heavy she could barely lift her arm, and judging by the estimates surrounding the diamond, that may not have been much of an exaggeration.
The Ring
The custom-designed piece was created by Hollie Winter Fine Jewelry, a boutique jeweler based in Germantown, Tennessee.
Rather than opting for a traditional solitaire, the design features three center diamonds in different shapes: an elongated cushion cut, an oval cut, and a pear-shaped diamond positioned at the bottom. The stones are set in yellow gold and surrounded by accent diamonds, giving the ring a bold, sculptural cluster appearance that feels more like a statement jewelry piece than a conventional engagement ring.
Several jewelers described it as one of the most intricate celebrity engagement rings seen in recent years.
And, fittingly for a country music power couple, the ring arrived in a cowboy hat box.
So, How Much Did It Cost?
The exact price remains unknown. Neither Wilson, Hodges, nor Hollie Winter Fine Jewelry has publicly revealed the ring’s value.
That hasn’t stopped experts from estimating it.
Mike Fried, CEO of The Diamond Pro, estimated the ring could be worth more than $250,000, assuming the three center stones weigh roughly 2.5 carats each. Other jewelers offered more conservative estimates ranging from $15,000 to $100,000, depending on the diamonds’ quality and whether the stones are natural or lab-grown.
At the high end, some experts speculated that if the center stones weigh closer to 5–7 carats each and carry top-tier clarity and color grades, the ring’s value could exceed $1 million. However, without analyzing the diamonds in the ring, i.e., their quality and quantity, it’s hard to estimate a clear price point.
