Jan Da Souza (Joanne Froggatt) spent most of MobLand Season 2 trying to build a life away from Harry, and in Episode 6 she ends the man who made that life look possible. Donnie played her, and she answers with a single gunshot.
Harry warned her back in Season 2 Episode 5 that Donnie was working for Kat MacAllister, and she ignored him. Episode 6 is where she learns that Harry was right.
Why Did Jan Kill Donnie in MobLand Season 2 Episode 6?
Jan realises that Donnie got close to her only to get close to Harry. She calls Harry on video with his own gun in her hand and gives him a warning.
“If you ever call me again, I’m pulling this trigger.”
Harry still tries to protect her. He sends Zosia and her men to move Jan to a safe house, but Jan reads it as another attempt to run her life. She threatens to hurt herself if anyone comes to her door, and Harry calls the plan off.
Meanwhile, Donnie keeps calling because Frankie wants to kidnap and torture Jan and use her as bait for Harry. Jan finally picks up and suggests meeting at the Rose and Crown. He sits there with a Guinness, she never shows, and he heads home.
And just when he reaches home, she is waiting in his kitchen. Jan says only two words before firing, and then Donnie falls to the floor.
“F**k you.”
I think Jan’s anger was more about humiliation than strategy. Harry had the people to deal with Donnie, but doing it herself gives Jan a flash of the control she has been chasing. It also means she was wrong and Harry was right, and the gun makes that harder to sit with.

Can Jan Escape Harry and Kat After Killing Donnie?
Donnie was tied to Kat’s operation, so his death is a problem for the whole family and not just for Jan. The Harrigans are still recovering from Frankie’s attack on the Cotswolds estate, and Kat could retaliate at the worst possible moment. If Kat finds out who pulled the trigger, Jan becomes a target.
Jan has told Harry to stay away, yet she now has a body to explain and no obvious way to handle the fallout alone. Her shot at independence could be the thing that pulls her back under his protection.
Harry has already shown he will step in whether she wants him to or not. I expect him to do it again, and Jan will have to decide whether that is rescue or another cage.
