Tom Holland has come a long way from the actor who booked his first Spider-Man paycheck for pocket change. With Spider-Man: Brand New Day now in theaters, reports about his payday for the film have fans doing a serious double-take.
Holland’s journey to becoming the highest-paid Spider-Man ever didn’t happen overnight. He earned just $250,000 for his introduction in Captain America: Civil War, then $500,000 for Spider-Man: Homecoming before bonuses pushed that closer to $1.5 million.
By the time Spider-Man: No Way Home hit theaters in 2021, his reported fee had climbed to around $10 million, a number that reflected both his star power and the film’s eventual $1.9 billion global haul.

Holland is the undisputed financial anchor of the franchise, and his latest contract reflects historic Hollywood territory.
According to The Warp, who spoke with three individuals with knowledge of Holland’s deal, the actor scored a base salary of at least $20 million up front, an increase of $10 million from his last Spider-Man gig, with the potential to earn upwards of $100 million when backend bonuses are factored in as Brand New Day zooms towards a final global box office haul of over $2 billion.

Even more remarkable: Holland’s backend bonus is not capped, so there’s no ceiling to how much he may ultimately make, one individual added.
“He will make at least” $100 million, said this individual while declining to comment on how high that payday might soar.
Holland isn’t the only one cashing a hefty check on this one. Mark Ruffalo, returning as Bruce Banner, is reportedly among the highest-paid supporting cast members at a base salary of $12 million, joining a lineup that includes Zendaya, Jacob Batalon, Jon Bernthal‘s Punisher, and Sadie Sink.
Still, the vast gap between Holland’s deal and the rest of the ensemble underlines just how central he remains to the franchise’s financial engine. Spider-Man: Brand New Day, directed by Destin Daniel Cretton, is currently playing in theaters and putting up record-setting numbers worldwide.
