Kagurabachi Chapter 137 releases worldwide on Sunday, November 1, 2026, at 10 am ET, which is 7 am PT. Readers in Japan get it at midnight on Monday, November 2, and that same moment lands at 8:30 pm IST on Sunday in India.

US clocks fall back an hour on November 1, so the chapter drops an hour earlier on the clock than Chapter 136, which arrived at 11 am ET on October 25. The release stays at midnight in Japan, and UK and European clocks already shifted on October 25.

No break has been announced for Weekly Shonen Jump issue 49, so the weekly schedule should likely hold.

What Happened in Kagurabachi Chapter 136?

Chapter 136, titled “Mikaboshi”, opened inside the Mikaboshi camp, where a Sorcery Bureau agent was being held prisoner. The chapter explained how the clan ranks its own people. Black eyes and black fingernails mark a link to the pure-blooded line, and compatibility with the Datenseki stone gives an advantage.

Then came the six guardians: Audiu, Bonsoro, Raw-Law, Yukifu, Zukon, and Shurin. The Mikaboshi have already struck Japan’s southeastern coast and plan to push toward Tokyo. However, they have not located the Datenseki stone or Princess Chiaki yet.

The real shock came from a lone survivor, who reported that Japanese forces had forged a sword infused with Datenseki power. The guardians were rattled because the Mikaboshi treated the stone as sacred. While Shurin waved it off as a possible prototype and suspected Japan was stalling to build a new arsenal, he decided to investigate personally.

Shurin also revealed his true appearance in front of the prisoner, and he lacked the pure-blooded traits. He admitted he is Audiu’s younger brother and felt he has to prove his worth through action. The chapter ends with him interrogating the agent about Japan’s plans.

What I Expect From Kagurabachi Chapter 137

Chapter 137 should stay with the interrogation, and I think it matters more than a typical exposition scene. The agent is the Mikaboshi’s only source on the one thing that rattled them, so whatever Shurin extracts could shape how the clan approaches Tokyo.

The sword is the detail I’m watching. Kunishige has already smelted the Datenseki in the flashback, so I read that blade as the first Enchanted Blade, and the series has established that the Enchanted Blades are what ended the war. That means the tension is not whether Japan survives but what it costs, and Shurin going hands-on suggests the cost starts climbing soon.

Shurin is the other thread. A guardian who feels he must earn his place is more dangerous than one who is secure in it, and I expect his bond with Audiu to matter before the war reaches Tokyo. Chapters have run about 15 pages since the series returned, so a tight installment is more likely than a full battle.
