Every treasure hunt on needs a villain chasing the same prize as the Pogues, and for the last two seasons, that role has belonged to Dalia. Played by Walking Dead veteran , she leads the mercenary group known as the Corsairs, and Season 5 puts her right back at the center of the hunt for the Blue Crown.

Dalia first showed up in Season 4 as a revolutionary-style leader running her own crew of hired guns, chasing the same artifact linked to Blackbeard’s treasure that the Pogues were after. She proved just how far she’d go early on, accessing catacombs beneath a Charleston church using an amulet the Pogues had recovered and pulling a scroll believed to hold the key to the treasure.

By the Season 4 finale, she and her mercenaries were locked in an all-out fight with the group, one that ended with JJ dead at Chandler Groff’s hands and the crown briefly in the Pogues’ possession before Groff stole it back.

Dalia’s Role Under Anton Finch in Season 5

Season 5 makes clear that Dalia isn’t working alone at the top. She answers to Anton Finch, a wealthy collector who becomes the season’s true driving force behind the Corsairs. Finch’s motivation is deeply personal: he lost his daughter Sadie, and the Blue Crown’s legendary power to raise the dead is what he’s really after, not gold.

That gives Dalia’s ruthlessness a purpose beyond simple greed. She’s the enforcer who keeps Finch’s operation moving, whether that means putting two smugglers through a brutal one-on-one fight for a single spot on the team or executing a pair of men in cold blood during a deal gone wrong with Sarah’s mother.

She’s also the one who tracks Groff’s movements after he steals the crown in Morocco, feeding Finch the intel that keeps the Corsairs one step ahead of the Pogues across Spain, Portugal, and eventually Croatia.

What Dalia Wants From the Blue Crown

Unlike Finch, Dalia’s own stake in the crown is never framed as personal grief. She reads as a professional first, someone who has built her career and her crew around securing high-value artifacts for the highest bidder, and Finch happens to be paying the bills this time around.

That distinction matters, because it makes her one of the more coldly efficient threats the Pogues have faced, unclouded by the kind of desperation that drives Groff or even Finch himself.

Her presence keeps the pressure on every corner of the Pogues’ mission, from the streets of Dubrovnik to the mountains where Kiara chases her own shot at bringing JJ back. As long as Finch wants the crown, Dalia is the one making sure nothing gets in the way.

Outer Banks Season 5 is streaming now on Netflix.
