One of the most memorable new villains to crash into the MCU in years left fans with a lot of questions, and now the actor behind her has finally spoken up.

Emma Corrin made a massive impression as Cassandra Nova in 2024’s Deadpool & Wolverine, stealing scenes opposite Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman with a performance that was equal parts restrained and terrifying. The character met her end before the credits rolled, but in the MCU, death is rarely the final word.

Emma Corrin Wants to Return as Cassandra Nova: “Her Story’s Not Over”

In a new interview with Variety, Corrin made their feelings on a potential return very clear.

“I absolutely would, 100%,” they said. “I think her story’s not over.”

They didn’t stop there. Corrin pitched a direction they’d love to see the character taken, suggesting a sibling comedy-style film pairing Cassandra with Charles Xavier.

“I would like to see a Professor X and Cassandra Nova bonding film, a sibling comedy like ‘Step Brothers,'” Corrin said. “Make it happen! Internet, do your thing!”

In the comics, Cassandra Nova is Professor X’s twin sister, a parasitic entity who copied his DNA in the womb. The MCU version played on that mythology while carving out its own path, positioning her as a powerful psychic villain with a deeply personal connection to mutant-kind. Her role in Deadpool & Wolverine served as a key entry point for the X-Men into the broader MCU, making her story’s continuation a tantalizing prospect for fans hungry to see where the mutant corner of the franchise is heading.

Corrin also reflected on the experience of joining the blockbuster world for the first time, describing the shoot as overwhelming in the best possible way. Reynolds, Jackman, and director Shawn Levy went out of their way to make them feel at home, even meeting up in person before production began.

“They did so much to make me feel like I was stepping into something that wasn’t daunting at all but was just like a playground,” Corrin said. “And it really felt like that.”

Next up for Corrin is Netflix’s hotly anticipated Pride & Prejudice series, where they star as Elizabeth Bennet opposite a cast stacked with women both in front of and behind the camera.
