Ichigo Kurosaki and his allies just marched toward Yhwach’s throne room, and now fans are counting down the hours until the fight that could finally deliver one of the most requested moments in the entire franchise.
Bleach: Thousand-Year Blood War kicked off its fourth and final part, subtitled The Calamity, on July 25, 2026, with an episode titled “God of Thunder”. That premiere reunited Ichigo, Uryu Ishida, Orihime Inoue, and Chad as they pushed deeper into the Wandenreich, setting the stage for a string of confrontations the manga has been building toward for years.
Studio Pierrot has kept the momentum from Parts 1 through 3 fully intact, and this final cour is adapting some of the densest material in Tite Kubo’s original run.
When Does Bleach: The Calamity Episode 2 Release?
Episode 2 of The Calamity arrives on Saturday, August 1, 2026, airing first in Japan on TV Tokyo at 11:00 p.m. JST before hitting Hulu in the United States and Disney+ internationally at 7:30 a.m. PT (10:30 a.m. ET, 3:30 p.m. BST).
The episode is expected to pick up directly where “God of Thunder” left off, pushing into the clash between Kisuke Urahara and Askin Nakk Le Vaar. That matchup has been a point of anticipation since the arc’s manga chapters first ran, largely because it sets up Urahara’s Bankai appearing on screen for the first time in the anime’s history.
The final part is a 10-episode cour, covering manga chapters 664 through 686, with returning cast members Masakazu Morita, Noriaki Sugiyama, Yuki Matsuoka, and Hiroki Yasumoto reprising their roles.
Tomohisa Taguchi is directing, with Masaki Hiramatsu handling series composition alongside him, and Shiro Sagisu once again scoring the series. Kubo himself remains involved in overseeing the anime’s closing stretch, which fans have treated as the true finale of the Thousand-Year Blood War since Part 1 debuted.
With the Soul Reapers scattered across the Wandenreich and Yhwach’s full power still barely explored on screen, Episode 2 has a lot riding on it.
