Dexter: Resurrection is upping the ante for its highly-anticipated second season by adding Dan Stevens into the cast. It was confirmed in April 14, 2026, that Stevens will take on the role of Owen Stark, a ruthless serial killer dubbed as the “Five Borough Killer,” expanding the already rich cast in the dark world of the show.

The actor takes on the part of the “Five Borough Killer” in Season 2

According to the show description, Stevens’ character Owen Stark is an intricate serial killer, whose methods are similar to those of the notorious Zodiac Killer, except he operates within the boundaries of New York City. He allegedly taunts NYPD and makes disturbing phone calls prior to murder, playing mind games with the police and putting the whole city in danger. The actor will portray the killer as a series regular.

The second installment of the TV series was greenlighted in October 2025 following the success of the first season. Now, the production is moving ahead, adding several notable names and welcoming some familiar faces.

Among them will be Michael C. Hall as Dexter Morgan, who left Miami alive after all thanks to New Blood. Along with the main protagonist, viewers can expect to see Brian Cox who will take on the role of Don Framt or “New York Ripper.” Also, returning is Uma Thurman as Charley and Jack Alcott as Harrison Morgan.

There are rumors about a “dual-threat plot” for the next episode, which will feature Dexter in an impossible situation being simultaneously threatened by two serial killers, while trying to evade Angel Batista played by David Zayas who has been pursuing him all the way from Miami.

While no official release dates have been shared yet, Season 2 is predicted to launch by the end of 2026 or early 2027. It will come with the same showrunner Clyde Phillips.
