Tyson shot English Dan outside his gym at the end of Tulsa King Season 4 Episode 3, then left the gun behind. The episode did not settle whether Dan survived, and the abandoned weapon may matter as much as his fate.
The shooting landed in the middle of Dwight’s worst stretch yet. Governor Amanda Clark was shutting down his legitimate businesses and wiping out his whiskey stock, while Quiet Ray demanded a 25% cut of profits that no longer existed. Tyson’s war with Dan was supposed to be the one problem the crew could solve with a gun.
How Did Tyson’s Plan Against English Dan Go Wrong?

Dan met Detective Wozniak, who told him about Tyson and mentioned Dwight, although Dan had no idea who Dwight was. Once the detective left, Dan killed Santiago and went after Tyson outside an ice cream shop. A dropped ice cream spoiled the attempt, and Tyson fired back and noted the plate on Dan’s car.
Tyson finally told Dwight about the ecstasy trouble, which Dwight had already banned, and Dwight ordered him and Goodie to clean it up. They tracked Dan to his gym, where Goodie handed over a World War II Luger he had claimed after a coin flip against Vince. The gun was old enough to be untraceable, or so they assumed. Tyson shot Dan and left the weapon at the scene.
That mistake cost the crew twice. Goodie had been about to sell the gun, with a buyer offering up to $22,000, and anyone who asked around could learn he had tried to move it locally. The Luger gave police a possible line from the gym back to Goodie and then to Dwight.
The wider ending kept the pressure on. Clark signed a data farm deal with billionaire Bradley Van Heusen, promising a 70% subsidy on resources, which made her campaign against Dwight look more suspicious. Ray then called to demand his 25%, Dwight refused to pay, and the call ended on hostile terms.
Is English Dan Dead? My Prediction

While Episode 3 left Dan’s fate unclear, I think Dan survives, wounded, and my first reason is his track record. He shot Santiago in the season premiere, and Santiago lived long enough to receive a hospital visit from Dan. A second shot that fails to finish the job would fit a pattern the show has already set.
The second reason is casting. Richie Stephens joined the season as English Dan, a rival boss meant to challenge Dwight’s operations from the supply side, and Dan has only just heard Dwight’s name through Wozniak. Writing him out in his third episode would waste that setup.
However, the synopsis for Episode 4, “Square One”, covers Dwight regrouping, Mitch and Spencer’s big score, Bodhi’s counterfeit scheme and Tyson’s rap ambitions, with no mention of Dan. That absence fits a hospital stay as easily as a death, and Kevin Pollak did tease a season of “violence, death, and Sly.”
I would put the odds at roughly two in three that Dan lives, and a wounded Dan with Wozniak feeding him information is a bigger danger to Dwight than a dead one. If he does die, the Luger becomes the main threat instead. Either outcome adds a third front to a season where Clark and Ray are already closing in.
Tulsa King Season 4 Episode 4 arrives Friday, November 6 on Paramount+.
