Vin Diesel just gave fans the update they have been waiting years for, and it came straight from the driver’s seat.

The Fast & Furious franchise has spent more than two decades building a legacy of family, nitrous, and impossible stunts, but the road to its final chapter has tested even the most patient fans. Fast X ended on a cliffhanger back in 2023, and the sequel meant to close out the saga has faced years of delays since, leaving Dominic Toretto’s fate in limbo.

That wait is officially over.

Fast Forever Cameras Are Finally Rolling, Vin Diesel Confirms

Diesel took to Instagram this week with a behind-the-scenes video confirming that cameras are officially rolling on Fast Forever, the eleventh and final chapter in the mainline Fast & Furious saga. “I’m on set. People are grinding. Incredible crews are working,” Diesel said in the clip.

He didn’t stop there. “I just wanted to take a second to say thank you. You guys are the best audience in the world, best fans in the world. You’ve been patient to the industry, you’ve been patient to the studio, and you’ve been patient with me. Over the past three and a half years, we’ve been grinding to try to make the most amazing finale.”

That “most amazing finale” line is already being treated as the tagline of the production update, and it’s easy to see why. Fast Forever caps off a franchise that has earned more than $7 billion worldwide since The Fast and the Furious first hit theaters in 2001.

Diesel also touched on his packed schedule outside the Toretto family, noting he’s been “lucky to embark on other characters” like Riddick in the upcoming Riddick: Furya, alongside developing Rock ‘Em Sock ‘Em for Mattel. But Fast Forever remains the priority, and the timing lines up with Diesel’s earlier announcement that NBCUniversal has four live-action Fast & Furious shows in development, with at least one already set up at Peacock and Diesel executive producing.

No official cast list has been confirmed yet for Fast Forever, though franchise mainstays like Tyrese Gibson, Michelle Rodriguez, Jordana Brewster, Ludacris, and Sung Kang are expected to return, alongside Fast X additions Jason Statham, Nathalie Emmanuel, Charlize Theron, and Brie Larson. Louis Leterrier, who directed Fast X, is rumored to be returning behind the camera, though that has not been officially confirmed.

Fast Forever races into theaters on March 17, 2028, closing out the saga that started it all 25 years ago.
