Nearly two decades after they last shared the big screen, Danny Ocean’s legendary crew is officially gearing up for another high-stakes heist.
While Hollywood has spent years floating rumors of a potential franchise revival, fans of the smooth-talking syndicate have long wondered if George Clooney, Brad Pitt, and the rest of the crew would ever actually reunite. Now, it looks like the waiting game is finally coming to an end.
Brad Pitt Confirms Ocean’s 14 Is in Development
Speaking in an exclusive sit-down alongside director David Ayer with Entertainment Tonight, Brad Pitt confirmed that Ocean’s 14 is actively moving forward, reuniting core franchise stars George Clooney, Matt Damon, and Julia Roberts. While rumors of a fourth installment have floated across Hollywood for years, Pitt revealed that the sequel was greenlit internally because Clooney personally penned an irresistible screenplay.
“Yep, we’re figuring that out now,” Pitt revealed. “George wrote a banger of a script that’s actually worth getting up and going telling another one. So, we’re going to do it.”
The franchise kicked off in 2001 with Steven Soderbergh’s smash-hit Ocean’s Eleven, followed by Ocean’s Twelve in 2004 and Ocean’s Thirteen in 2007. While the series branched out in 2018 with the Sandra Bullock-led spinoff Ocean’s 8, the mainline crew has remained on hiatus.
When asked about reuniting with his longtime co-stars, Pitt joked that he anticipates plenty of chaos once the ensemble steps back onto set together.
“I’m actually a little concerned, cuz the hijinks will ensue on and off set,” Pitt laughed.
The confirmation marks a stark transition for Pitt, who spent his recent production wading through freezing mud and enduring severe weather on location. Trading harsh outdoor survival conditions for sharp suits and casino corridors brings the actor back into familiar territory alongside the cast that helped define early-2000s blockbusters.
