What Happened in Bleach: Thousand-Year Blood War – The Calamity Episode 9?

Bleach: Thousand-Year Blood War – The Calamity Episode 9, titled “The Blade”, arrived on October 19 after a month-long delay meant to improve the animation. It did and opened with Yhwach’s eyes sweeping the sky over three worlds while every attack on him failed and the sky kept closing. Ishida shot him with the silver arrow, and Ichigo struck with his old Zangetsu as Grimmjow, Shunsui and their teams attacked from different directions.
Ishida then remembered his first fight against the Menos Grande and had Ichigo fire Getsuga Tensho from behind him as he fired his own shot, merging the two attacks. He showed Ichigo a silver arrow tip, which weakens Yhwach once it reaches his blood and has to reach his heart. Ichigo agreed to dive into Yhwach one more time.
At the Research Institute, sky coverage climbed from 74 percent to 92 percent before Ganju, Nel and Iba plugged the final gaps to hold it at 99 percent. The amplifier launched with Yukio controlling it. Aizen, Isshin and Ryuken did not appear in the episode.
The silver arrow was already in Yhwach’s chest as he spoke about merging the worlds. Grimmjow bit him, the scene cut to Urahara with a hint of a forgotten trick, and Shunsui hit Yhwach with the arm of the Soul King. A final three-direction strike followed, Yhwach shattered Ichigo’s old Zangetsu, and a slash landed as the title card appeared.
What to Expect From Bleach: Thousand-Year Blood War – The Calamity Episode 10?

The biggest question I have going into the finale is whether that strike finishes Yhwach. In the manga, Ichigo kills him and the heroes come out on the winning side. The Still Silver arrow only seals his powers temporarily, so the timing of that strike carries the weight.
Very little manga material remains. VviP Times reports that about two and a half chapters are left, with roughly 75 percent of them focused on the epilogue set years after the fight, and that Episode 9 expanded a final fight that ran only about ten pages in the manga.
I expect the extra room to go toward the aftermath, and a time skip showing where the characters stand after the war would not surprise me.
Episode 9 also left a few threads open that I want answered. Aizen, Isshin and Ryuken were absent, Urahara’s hint went unexplained, and Ichigo’s old Zangetsu was destroyed in the final strike.
