Iman Vellani cannot stop talking about Spider-Man: Brand New Day, and fans are reading between every single line.
The actress, who plays Kamala Khan across the MCU, has been one of Marvel’s most vocal cheerleaders for years. But her latest comments about the upcoming Tom Holland film feel different, more personal, more knowing, and fans have noticed.
Spider-Man: Brand New Day is the fourth installment in Holland’s Spider-Man saga and arrives in theaters on July 31, 2026. Directed by Destin Daniel Cretton, the film picks up after the events of No Way Home, with Peter Parker living entirely alone after voluntarily erasing himself from the lives and memories of everyone he loves. It’s a fresh, emotionally grounded premise with a stacked confirmed cast around it.
What Iman Vellani Actually Said About Spider-Man: Brand New Day
In a recent appearance on the ‘Revenge Of’ Podcast, Vellani was asked about the film and did not hold back.
“The excitement is always there and I don’t think it’s ever going to die,” she said. “If anything, it’s only been more amplified because I now know the people who’ve made it, and they love what they do so much… They put their whole hearts into it.”
That phrasing, “I now know the people who’ve made it,” is doing a lot of heavy lifting. It’s not the comment of someone who watched a trailer. It sounds like someone who has been on set, or at the very least, deep inside the production.
A rumored cast list circulating since early 2026 includes Iman Vellani as Kamala Khan in a cameo role, alongside a wave of other surprise appearances. Hailee Steinfeld as Kate Bishop is also listed as a cameo, which would make sense given Marvel’s Young Avengers throughline, which it has been quietly building across Phase Six.
Vellani’s Ms. Marvel has had a complicated road since her debut series. While The Marvels flopped at the box office in 2023, Vellani’s performance was among the ensemble’s most praised aspects, and she later appeared in Marvel Zombies on Disney+. A Brand New Day cameo would mark her return to the big screen and a significant step in solidifying Kamala’s place in the MCU’s future lineup.
Nothing has been officially confirmed yet. But when an actress says she knows the people who made a movie and that her excitement has only grown, it’s hard to hear it any other way.
