What Happened in One Piece Chapter 1191
Chapter 1191 picked up immediately after Imu badly wounded Scopper Gaban, the former Roger Pirates member who threw himself into the fight to buy Luffy time.
Gaban survived losing his arm but remained too weak to keep fighting, and he urged Luffy to pull the Straw Hats out of Elbaf entirely rather than risk facing an opponent who seemed nearly impossible to put down for good.
Luffy refused to retreat. Hajrudin stepped in to shield him and Gaban from another of Imu’s attacks, and Loki arrived shortly after to even the odds further. By the chapter’s end, Luffy had recovered enough strength to join Loki and Hajrudin in a combined assault against Imu, who responded by transforming into a larger, more monstrous form with four horns.
Zoro’s ongoing clash with Saint Sommers also got a brief check-in during Chapter 1191, though the confrontation was left without a clear winner, leaving that thread open for a future chapter to pick back up.
The bigger question heading into Chapter 1192 is whether Elbaf’s united front can actually hurt Imu in a way that matters, or whether Gaban’s warning about the difference between damaging Imu and truly defeating him is about to prove correct.
