Jennifer Lawrence has a lot of love for her best friend Emma Stone. That love has a time limit when a fight is on the table.
The two Oscar winners have been close since Lawrence was 19, bonding over movies and books in the early days of her career before growing into one of Hollywood’s most famous friendships.
They have also produced films together through their company Excellent Cadaver and have spent years trading jabs in joint interviews, most memorably over the Easy A role Lawrence never landed. So when Amy Poehler asked Lawrence to settle the score physically on the Good Hang podcast, she came prepared with an answer.

Poehler asked Lawrence a simple question. Who would win in a fight between her and Stone? Lawrence did not hesitate.
“I think if I like got a clock in, I’d knock her out in like 2 seconds,” Lawrence said. “No offense, Emma, if you’re listening.”
She doubled down moments later, explaining that the physical mismatch is not close. “I could take her out if it was like a fight or a wrestle, she’s done,” Lawrence said.
The foot race question is where things got complicated. Lawrence pointed to a difference in bone density between herself and Stone as the deciding factor. “Running, I don’t know, because I don’t know if her hollow bones give her an advantage,” she joked.
The bit fits neatly into a friendship built on this exact kind of ribbing. Lawrence has joked in the past that Stone stole the Easy A role from her, and she recently told a crowd at 92Y that Stone has been beating her for decades over their overlapping award seasons. A fabricated fight is just the latest chapter.
The pair has plenty else keeping them close these days. Lawrence and Stone are producing their first project together, a Miss Piggy movie in early development at Disney, with Oh, Mary! Tony winner Cole Escola is writing the screenplay. Lawrence has even suggested the two longtime friends might act alongside each other on screen for the first time, calling it overdue that they had never shared a project before now. Variety
Fans hoping for a rebuttal on the karaoke jab will have to wait, but with a Miss Piggy movie on the way and decades of friendly ribbing behind them, Stone and Lawrence’s bond shows no signs of slowing down.
