Fans have been waiting years to climb the Twisted Tower, and the wait is almost over. A new trailer just confirmed exactly when players can step inside this nightmare version of Disneyland.
The game first turned heads back in 2023 when it was revealed as a horror shooter mashing up Willy Wonka’s Chocolate Factory with BioShock, immediately earning comparisons to Rapture at its creepiest. It comes from Atmos Games, the indie studio led by Thomas Brush, the mind behind cult favorites Pinstripe and Neversong. That pedigree alone had horror fans watching closely, and the setup only sweetened the deal.
The story follows Tiny, an eighteen year old who scores a Velvet Ticket to compete on The Twisted Tower, a deadly game show hosted by billionaire toy maker Mr. Twister. Tiny just wants to climb to the top, win the grand prize, and propose to his childhood sweetheart Charlotte on live television. Naturally, the tower has other plans.
When Does Twisted Tower Release?
Twisted Tower launches for PC via Steam on August 18. Publisher 3D Realms confirmed the date alongside Saber Interactive and developer Atmos Games, ending years of uncertainty for fans who only had a demo to go on.
The new trailer leans hard into the game’s central hook: an abandoned 1950s resort where corrupted fairy-tale mascots roam the halls looking for a hug you really don’t want to give them. Players will fight through five distinct areas, including a hotel, a waterpark, a clown casino, a carnival forest, and a space station, each twisting the wholesome theme-park aesthetic into something far more sinister.
Combat leans into the game’s playful horror identity, too. Players get a toybox arsenal that includes a whack-a-mole mallet, a rubber-band pistol, a Tommy Gun that fires darts, and even a gun that pops enemy skulls off. It is silly on the surface, but the tone shifts fast once the tower’s real secrets start surfacing.
Exploration also plays a major role, with players collecting bizarre toys that unlock new traversal options, like jumping, dashing, and grappling, as they progress up the tower. Multiple paths through each level promise real replay value for anyone chasing every secret hidden in the resort’s twisted halls.
Twisted Tower climbs onto Steam on August 18.
