We see Season 1 veteran Struan Loy incinerated inside a locked shipping container, followed in quick succession by Kay White being drowned without leaving a single forensic trace near the canal.
These aren’t random assassinations; this is a systematic, retroactive purge. Someone with deep, institutional knowledge of the service is working their way through the roster of former and current slow horses, tying up loose ends from years of buried operations.
My immediate read on this points straight toward the upper echelons of the Park. Even with Taverner sitting in First Desk, the timing following David Cartwright’s death leaves River, Lamb, and the remaining rejects completely exposed.
