Slow Horses Cast Got Rejected From an LA Club by ‘Hannah Banana’

The Slow Horses cast got an unexpected real-life reminder of their show’s title when Rosalind Eleazar, Christopher Chung and Saskia Reeves were turned away from a Hollywood club during a night out. The trio recalled the embarrassing encounter while discussing Season 6, with Eleazar admitting another woman named “Hannah Banana” walked straight past them and got inside.

Slow Horses Cast Became the Real-Life “Slow Horses”

Speaking to The Hollywood Reporter at its TIFF Studio, Eleazar explained how the three actors ended up outside the club after being denied entry.

“We got rejected from a club, after, didn’t we?” Eleazar said. “We got the three of us got rejected from a club in Hollywood and this name I can’t actually remember. This woman behind us called Hannah Banana sailed on past.”

Eleazar said the situation made them feel exactly like the characters from Slow Horses.

“And the three of us were like, we literally feel like slow horses which is outside the club at 3:00 a.m. and Hannah Banana straight swed in.”

Chung then explained how they ended up at the club after another venue had closed. He said a friend at the second club had assured them they would get in, only for the door to be closed on them before the same friend tried to get them inside. The situation apparently changed completely when Hannah Banana arrived.

“We went to the door and they closed the door and, uh, and knock knock and my friend was on the other side. He’s like, ‘Oh, now let them in. Like, they’re they’re slow horses. I don’t know what that show is.’” Chung recalled. “Oh banana come in banana. Banana, come in.”

The trio ultimately gave up on the night out. Eleazar summed up the alternative plan simply:

“So, we went back to the hotel room and danced.”

The story comes as Apple prepares to bring Slow Horses back for Season 6. The six-episode season premieres on September 16, with new episodes arriving weekly through October 21.

Gary Oldman returns as Jackson Lamb alongside Jack Lowden, Eleazar, Chung, Reeves and the rest of the ensemble. Olivia Cooke is also returning as Sidonie “Sid” Baker, while BAFTA winner Lenny Rush joins the cast in a new role.
