“She’s not scared.” That’s how Hugo Diego García describes the moment he realized his Drawn Together co-star Ester Expósito was a different breed, and it happened long before either of them stepped on set together.

Drawn Together pairs Expósito and García as Marfil and Sebastian, a duo whose bond drives the Prime Video series through a cliffhanger ending that’s already fueling talk of a second season. But according to the two stars, the real-life groundwork for that chemistry was laid off camera, at a Madrid club, long before cameras rolled.
García explained that he had just arrived in Madrid without knowing a single person in the city when Expósito stepped in.
“Esther was so nice,” he recalled in a Collider interview. “She invited me to a club like one of the first weeks, I believe, and she almost got into a fight with a bunch of guys, so I was like, wow, yeah, I was like, ‘she’s not scared.'”
The night didn’t end at the club. By 3 or 4 in the morning, still running on adrenaline from the near-fight, the two ended up in a smoking room together. García offered to run her through an impromptu boxing session, skipping the mitts and taking her punches bare-handed instead, heels and all.
“She had so much pent-up rage that we ended up in a smoking room, um, training, and um I just gave her like a mid session but without the mitts, just with my bare uh hands and she started boxing, and she was wearing high heels, and so it was um intense.”
While Garcia walked away with sore hands, both actors count it as one of the more memorable nights of the shoot.
“She hurt my hands, but it was a very memorable experience,” he admitted, sitting beside a smiling Expósito.
That kind of real chemistry is hard to fake, and it shows in how naturally Marfil and Sebastian play off each other on screen. Whether Drawn Together gets picked up for a second season, the bond between its two leads clearly isn’t going anywhere.
