Gal Gadot has a new behind-the-scenes story from The Runner, and it involves the London Underground, a skeleton crew, and a bloody cut on her forehead. The actress explained that certain scenes had to be shot with almost no production support, forcing her to improvise in a very public setting. She ended up testing just how much strangers actually notice.
Gadot Filmed Alone on the London Underground
Speaking with Collider’s Steve Weintraub, Gadot said the crew was stripped down to almost nothing for a key sequence.
“We were very limited when we were filming in the tube. At one point I had to go, just me, my security guy, and the camera guy, to a different station and get on the train. It was just the two of them filming me, and I had this bloody cut on my forehead,” she said.
She expected commuters to stop and stare. Instead, almost nobody reacted.
“I was so worried people would come up worried about me, but they didn’t mind it too much. I was telling the camera guy, I thought people would be like, is everything okay, you have something, what’s going on? But that wasn’t the case. It was a very interesting social experiment.”
This is not the first time an on-set cut has become one of Gadot’s favorite stories. Filming Red Notice with Dwayne Johnson, she sliced her toe open mid-scene, and Johnson has recalled how much blood there was on set that day. Gadot kept shooting anyway.
Between a bloodied forehead in a London tube station and a bloodied toe on the Red Notice set, Gadot has built a reputation for treating on-set injuries as just another part of the job on The Runner.
