Inde Navarrette has become the internet’s newest Marvel casting fantasy, and she didn’t even have to audition for it.

The 25-year-old actor has spent the last two months living inside the kind of career spike most performers only dream about. Her horror breakout Obsession turned a sub-$1 million budget into nearly $400 million worldwide, and her performance as Nikki has already drawn awards buzz and comparisons to Natalie Portman’s work in Léon: The Professional. Now she’s telling fans exactly where she wants to take that momentum next.

Inde Navarrette Confirms Interest In Joining The MCU

In a new interview with Nylon, Navarrette revealed she’s recently met with Thunderbolts director Jake Schreier, one of the names on her growing wishlist of dream collaborators alongside Ryan Coogler, Greta Gerwig, and Michael Mann.

When asked directly if she’d do a Marvel film, her answer left no room for doubt: “I would.”

She wasn’t done there either. Asked if she’d return to horror after Obsession, she said she’d “love to,” signaling the genre that made her a star isn’t getting left behind anytime soon.

What she’s ruling out, at least in its traditional form, is a straight Obsession sequel. Navarrette explained she likes the idea of director Curry Baker’s proposed anthology approach instead, where each installment follows a different wish gone wrong, rather than a direct continuation of Bear and Nikki’s story.

The actor has been candid about how differently she’s approaching auditions since Obsession hit. Before her breakout, she was walking dogs and streaming to pay bills between jobs, and constant rejection had worn down her confidence. Landing one of the year’s biggest horror surprises appears to have flipped that switch entirely, and she now says she has a clearer sense of the projects worth chasing.

She’s also got a film shooting this September that she’s excited about specifically because it’s a first-time director’s project, continuing a pattern of betting on new voices rather than chasing only established names. Combined with her stated Marvel interest, it paints a picture of an actor building a deliberately varied slate rather than cashing in on one genre.

No specific Marvel project has been attached to Navarrette, and nothing suggests a formal offer is on the table yet. But with Schreier reportedly already in her orbit and her name trending after Obsession‘s box office run, don’t be surprised if that changes soon.
