Lana Del Rey fans have waited years for one album. As of this week, they are getting two.
The rollout for Del Rey’s tenth studio album has been famously chaotic. What started as Lasso in 2024 became The Right Person Will Stay, then Stove, with release dates sliding from 2025 into 2026 and a late addition of six extra tracks along the way. Every update seemed to promise that the same thing was almost done. This one promised something nobody asked for.
Lana Del Rey Announces Second Album Alongside Stove
In a lengthy Instagram post, Del Rey confirmed that Stove has actually been finished for a while, calling it “so lovely and intact as it was intended to be, a classic album.” But she revealed that a second, unplanned project grew alongside it.
“Patience was the key, and in between the songs came new thoughts about old friends and new dreams and from the doubt of whether the tree I had been planting would grow- came new sprouts and so grew a new rose bush underneath the willow-…A large companion album, compiled by as many people as I could find to help me gather my thoughts about how much was changing,” she wrote.
Del Rey framed the two records as reflections of different parts of the same four-year stretch, one steady and finished, the other born out of the doubt and delay that kept pushing the rollout back. She said she needed about a month more to finish the companion project before sending both albums to vinyl pressing.

She also shared artwork for two vinyl records, one titled Stove featuring a floral portrait of herself, and another showing a boat that appears to read Spyda, likely the companion album’s title. Clips of fireworks, a pair of long-hunted Ralph Lauren boots, and a video of her dancing with her cat rounded out the post.
She also thanked the collaborators who helped shape the second project and offered a characteristically wry aside for anyone who has lost patience with the years-long wait, joking she wished the best to “everyone who stayed on land” before walking it back with “just kidding, I thought we were in the boat together.
Fans who have followed this rollout since the Lasso era know better than to trust a firm timeline from Del Rey at this point, but the announcement at least reframes years of delays as two records worth of work rather than one album that kept slipping.
Stove has already produced early tracks like White Feather Hawk Tail Deer Hunter and Henry, Come On, giving listeners a preview of what the “classic album” side of this era sounds like.
