The : Thousand-Year Blood War ended on a meeting between two kids. One has Renji’s red hair and the other has Ichigo’s blood, and their first encounter replays the moment Ichigo and Rukia met in the very first chapter. Then the screen goes quiet and leaves a question hanging: is this really where Bleach stops?

Ichigo’s war is over, and the manga’s final page is now animated, so the TV series has nothing left to adapt. Whatever comes next has to be new, and the pieces are already moving: a Hell Arc teased in 2021, a finale event booked for 2027, and a game with an original story.

Is a Bleach Sequel or Hell Arc Anime Confirmed?

No. As of the finale, no studio or publisher has announced a new , manga series or continuation. The Hell Arc refers to No Breaths from Hell, a one-shot Kubo released on August 9, 2021 for the series’ 20th anniversary.

The story takes place 12 years after the Great War. Ichigo’s son unwittingly opens a portal to Hell, and the captains learn that strong Soul Reapers who die are cast there instead of joining the Soul Society. The same one-shot confirmed that Ukitake’s soul was sent to Hell after his sacrifice in the war.

Kubo has not committed to continuing it. Asked by a reader about the Hell Arc, he said, “I’m not good at drawing when I’m told to draw, so I’ll think about it when I stop being told to draw.”

However, it’s worth noting that the one-shot is set 12 years after the war and the finale’s epilogue skips 10, so any Hell Arc would begin about two years after the final scene. It would also begin with Kazui, the boy who erases the last remnant of Yhwach’s power in the finale, already central to the setup.

That open door is why Sosuke Aizen keeps coming up in the conversation. He has been locked away since his defeat, yet his Kyōka Suigetsu helped create the opening Ichigo used against Yhwach, which shows the Soul Society cannot treat him as a closed case.

I think a Hell Arc that threatens the balance between the worlds might force the Soul Society to lean on the man it once feared, and Aizen’s Reiatsu would make him a natural candidate for the next Soul King. However, that is just speculation, and Kubo has said nothing about it.

Until Kubo says otherwise, the confirmed slate is where the next news will come from, and it is fuller than the finale made it feel. The biggest date is BLEACH FES. on February 27 and 28, 2027, a finale event at Makuhari Messe in Chiba. It includes special performances, new project announcements, exclusive merchandise and voice cast panels.

Fifteen voice actors are booked across the two days, including Masakazu Morita as Ichigo and Fumiko Orikasa as Rukia. While nobody has said what the new projects are, this is the first scheduled stage where a continuation could be revealed.

Between now and then, the closest thing to new story is Bleach: Mirrors High. It is a free-to-play iOS and Android action game with an original story set after the Thousand-Year Blood War. It comes with two new protagonists, Shirin Migishima and Shirane Sanari, designed by Kubo, and launched globally on October 28.

The printed side is busier than it looks. Don’t Bleach My Fist, a school-life spin-off novel by Ryohgo Narita, released in Japan on June 4, 2026, and a second volume is in development with no release date and no English edition confirmed. BLEACH Artbook JET 2026 returned in two volumes on October 2, and a second art exhibition, BLEACH EX. II, is confirmed for summer 2027.

Bleach: The Stories is easy to mistake for new material, but it is a retrospective of the original anime, with full episodes, theme videos and cast interviews on the official YouTube channel.

Put together, the confirmed slate is built around celebration and side stories, with no continuation of the main plot announced yet. The manga ended with both Kazui and Ichika training to become Soul Reapers, which leaves the next generation as the obvious place to continue if Kubo ever returns.

Kazui is also the character who opens the portal in the Hell one-shot, so the finale’s last image and the franchise’s only teased arc already point at the same child.
