is facing pressure over whether to provide security for Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet after two paparazzi were found watching their school for several hours, according to former royal butler Grant Harrold.

Grant Harrold: King Charles Caught Between Family and Royal Protocol

The dilemma follows a harrowing incident outside Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet’s school, where two international paparazzi in a rental van were caught surveilling the grounds for several hours. While and condemned the intrusion as “extraordinarily reckless,” the scare has reignited intense debate over whether the Crown should step in to secure the young royals.

Speaking on Royals Uncensored, former royal butler Grant Harrold warned that the monarch is trapped between conflicting pressures.

“The King’s now caught between a rock and a hard place, because I have no doubt that he will want them to have this protection,” Harrold explained. “It’s his grandchildren.”

“But he’s got these advisers saying that because they walked away from the royal family, they’re not entitled to it, it’s the taxpayer funding it. If he sides with Harry, then you have William on his back and members of the household. It wouldn’t surprise me if he does eventually get involved, because he won’t want to feel responsible if something happens.”

Legal broadcaster Paula Rhone-Adrien echoed that sentiment, noting the children, sixth and seventh in line to the throne, should not bear the burden of adult feuds:

“They need protection, and if that protection had been in place, we wouldn’t be in this situation.”

However, royal commentator Mark Dolan argued that Harry and Meghan have turned the children into high-profile targets by branding them Prince and Princess and incorporating them into their media empire.

With over 50,000 Britons signing a petition against funding the family’s security, and reports swirling that the Sussexes may flee back to America if refused, Charles must decide whether to intervene or let the Home Office’s RAVEC committee decide their fate.
