Special Ops: Lioness Season 3 continues Taylor Sheridan’s military spy thriller with another mission built around deception, intelligence and high-risk operations. Episode 4, titled “Murder Hornets,” uses one of the show’s familiar animal references, but the meaning is more specific than it might initially seem.
The phrase is tied to the operation at the center of the episode and to the call signs assigned to the various players involved. “Hornet” is the designation assigned to Kaitlyn’s team, while “murder” reflects the increasingly lethal situation surrounding Joe (played by Zoe Saldaña).

The word “murder” connects to what happens to Joe in the present-day storyline. Russian intelligence captures her and moves her to an unknown location aboard a plane, putting the Lioness in serious danger.
