Another wave of GTA 6 development footage has surfaced online, with the latest clips offering a closer look at Rockstar Games’ upcoming open-world sequel. The footage reportedly includes everything from driving and combat to a familiar death screen that longtime Grand Theft Auto fans will immediately recognize.
The ninth clip from the latest leak wave is particularly notable because it appears to feature the return of the iconic “WASTED” screen. The same footage also includes a mission objective that mentions Lucia, giving fans another possible glimpse of how the game’s two protagonists could be connected during missions.
The footage comes from a leaker or group using the name Cyberleek, which has been releasing development clips throughout August. As with the other material, Rockstar Games has not publicly verified the footage or commented on the latest leaks.
The ‘WASTED’ Screen Returns In GTA 6
The leaked clip reportedly begins with Jason arriving at a gas station, where he encounters an agitated NPC who is struggling to fill up his pickup truck. The situation quickly escalates when the man spills gasoline on the ground and gets into a confrontation.
Jason eventually takes the NPC’s pickup truck and drives away, running the man over in the process. The escape does not last long, as Jason crashes the stolen vehicle into another car.

The resulting explosion kills Jason, triggering something that fans have been waiting to see in GTA 6: the familiar “WASTED” screen.
The appearance of the screen is significant because it has been one of the franchise’s most recognizable gameplay features since earlier Grand Theft Auto games. The leaked footage also appears to show more detailed physical reactions during the crash and the resulting explosion, although the exact systems depicted in the unfinished development footage could change before release.
Other clips from the current leak wave have shown Jason driving, fighting NPCs, and interacting with vehicles. One sequence reportedly features him getting into a melee fight after crashing into a delivery van, with the encounter eventually resulting in a two-star Wanted level.
The footage also appears to show vehicle storage and loadout options, while a fuel gauge is visible on the vehicle interface. Another short clip shows Jason playing basketball at the house featured in GTA 6‘s second trailer.

The bigger story detail arrives after the gas station sequence. The footage reportedly switches to a strip club, where Jason is seen inside a bathroom. A mission objective then appears on the screen, reading “Return to Lucia.”

That brief instruction could be one of the more revealing details in the leaked footage because it directly references the game’s second protagonist. Previous leaked clips had largely focused on Jason, making Lucia’s mention particularly notable.
The objective also appears to reinforce the idea that Jason and Lucia’s stories will regularly intersect rather than functioning as completely separate campaigns. The two characters are already established as partners in Rockstar’s official trailers, and the new footage could provide further indication of how the game will transition players between their respective activities.
The location has also drawn attention from fans who believe it resembles a bar seen in GTA 6‘s second trailer, although that connection has not been confirmed.
None of these details has been officially confirmed by Rockstar, and development footage can differ from the final game. Fans will not have to rely on leaks for much longer, however, with Rockstar’s official GTA 6 Extended Look scheduled to arrive on Netflix on August 27 before being released more broadly online.
