Bleach: Thousand-Year Blood War – The Calamity Episode 6 marks overall episode 46 of the anime as the war between the Soul Reapers and the Quincy edges toward its final confrontation. New installments continue to stream with English subtitles first, with the English dub trailing behind rather than dropping alongside the Japanese simulcast.
Episode 6 is scheduled to premiere on August 29, continuing the show’s uninterrupted weekly Saturday cadence, a streak Bleach has maintained since The Calamity began airing on July 25.
New episodes air on TV Tokyo in Japan before rolling out internationally on Saturdays at 7:30 a.m. Pacific Time.
The Calamity is the fourth and final cour of the Thousand-Year Blood War adaptation, closing out the story of Tite Kubo’s original manga after Part 1 (2022), Part 2: The Separation (2023), and Part 3: The Conflict (2024).
In the United States, the season streams exclusively on Hulu, while Disney+ carries it internationally, including in the UK, Spain, Italy, and Germany, with subtitled versions. Hulu has confirmed the cour runs for 10 episodes, closing out the series at a total of 50.
The official preview for this stretch of the arc describes the stakes plainly.
“The threat of the annihilation of the Three Worlds becomes a reality, as the shadow of destruction spreads across the realms.”
That framing lines up with where Episode 5 left things, deep inside Yhwach’s confrontation with Ichigo at Wahrwelt.

What Happened in Episode 5

Episode 5 picked up the fallout from Kenpachi Zaraki’s Bankai reveal and Toshiro Hitsugaya’s forced maturity into an adult form, both introduced in Episode 4. Uryu Ishida also squared off against Jugram Haschwalth in a battle reviewers flagged as one of the season’s more emotionally loaded fights. One review of the episode put it directly.
“This episode delivers a monstrous Ichigo power-up and an unforgettable moment for Orihime.”
Ichigo’s confrontation with Yhwach inside Wahrwelt escalated further, with Ichigo tapping into partial Hollowfication as the Soul Reaper’s situation grew more desperate. With only a handful of episodes left, Episode 6 is expected to keep building directly off that unresolved standoff rather than resetting the pace.
The Calamity is closing out a nearly four-year adaptation from Studio Pierrot, and the final stretch is only getting heavier from here. Episode 6 lands August 29, with Episode 7 already set to follow on September 5.
