What The Episode 1 Twist Means Going Forward
The premiere ends with the kind of gut punch that makes the dual structure click into place. A timeskip from 2016 to 2026 closes out the pilot, revealing an older John Stewart finding Hal’s frozen dead body sitting in the football bleachers at the same crime scene from earlier in the episode.
