As Robert Kirkman revealed during an interview, getting Bryan Cranston in Invincible still seems to remain his primary goal as he continues to try casting people in the role throughout multiple seasons. During the discussion, Kirkman called Cranston his “white whale” because he tried getting the actor to participate in the show many times, but no attempts proved to be successful.

While talking about inviting Cranston in Invincible, Robert Kirkman demonstrated great persistence. Kirkman said that he made it a tradition to make an offer to Cranston whenever a new season begins, but that every offer received no answer from the actor’s side so far. However, Kirkman does not plan to give up his attempts at getting the role cast by Cranston and promised to continue his campaign in the next seasons of the series.

Campaigning to get the actor to join the series proceeds while cast continues to grow

Additionally, Kirkman said that Cranston was the only well-known actor who repeatedly rejected the invitation. Given that Invincible managed to invite many well-known guests, it can sound surprising that his campaign remains successful without achieving results.

It should be pointed out that Invincible has been increasing its cast and getting ready for the next season after the previous episode brought to an end the Viltrumite War arc. That is why it is very likely that Season 5 is currently under production and may feature more characters soon.

Moreover, indirect references to the actor already exist due to Aaron Paul, who appeared in Season 3 as Powerplex, and Jonathan Banks, who participated in Invincible once. Those actors were previously involved in Breaking Bad together with Cranston.

The busy schedule of Cranston, who plays in such shows as The Studio and a remake of Malcolm in the Middle, seems to be the reason for his continuous refusal of the roles.
