Ms. Marvel fans have been asking the same question for years now: Is Kamala Khan ever getting her show back? The series ended its first season in 2022 without a renewal, and every few months, a new comment from star Iman Vellani reignites the debate all over again.

That’s exactly what happened this week. Vellani was asked point-blank about the odds of a second season, and while her answer wasn’t a yes, it wasn’t a no either. Given how much has changed in the MCU since Ms. Marvel wrapped, from The Marvels to Marvel Zombies to the looming Avengers: Doomsday, it’s worth breaking down where things actually stand.

What Iman Vellani Has Said About Season 2

Vellani’s latest comment was careful but pointed: “I can’t speak to the possibility of an S2, but I’m confident this is not the last you’ve seen of Kamala.” It’s the same balancing act she’s struck for years, never confirming a renewal, but never suggesting Kamala Khan is done either.

That pattern matters. Marvel Studios has kept Kamala in play across multiple projects instead of retiring her after Season 1, and Ms. Marvel remains the highest-rated live-action Disney+ series in MCU history. If anything, the demand for more Kamala content has only grown louder as her other appearances have piled up.

Where Ms. Marvel Actually Fits Into the MCU’s Future

Instead of a traditional Season 2, Kamala’s story has kept moving through other corners of the MCU. She had a supporting role in The Marvels, voiced a variant of herself in Marvel Zombies, and is now widely expected to appear in Avengers: Doomsday this December.

Director Andy Serkis appeared to let that detail slip during a joint interview with Vellani, and insiders have pointed to Kamala assembling a Young Avengers lineup that could include Kate Bishop and Cassie Lang. That would put Kamala at the center of the MCU’s next generation of heroes, even without a second season carrying her name.

A formal Season 2 renewal still hasn’t happened, and there’s no sign one is imminent. But between Vellani’s comments and Kamala’s expanding footprint across the MCU, it’s clear Marvel isn’t done with the character. It’s just telling her story somewhere else for now.

Avengers: Doomsday hits theaters on December 18, 2026, where Kamala Khan is expected to make her next MCU appearance.
