Mutant fans have kept their Wednesdays free for a reason, and this week is no exception. X-Men ’97 Season 2 is about to hand over its sixth episode, and it comes with a title that has already gotten people talking.

The season kicked off strong with a three-episode premiere event on July 1, throwing the team across timelines and straight into a fight with Apocalypse.

Since then, Marvel Animation has settled into a steady weekly rhythm, with episode 4 unpacking the Apocalypse arc’s fallout and episode 5 turning the focus inward with a more character-driven story. That consistency has made the show one of the more reliable watches on Disney+ this summer, especially for a franchise that has had its share of scheduling chaos elsewhere.

Episode 6, titled Danger.Exe, arrives on Disney+ on Wednesday, July 22, 2026. New episodes have consistently dropped at 12am PT, which aligns with 3 am ET, and there is no indication that the pattern will change this week.

The title alone gives fans plenty to speculate about. Danger.Exe points directly at the Danger Room, the mansion’s long running training simulator, hinting that this episode may explore the tech turning against the very team it was built to prepare.

Reporting on the season’s episode lineup has also flagged this stretch as the moment Polaris makes her return, a beat that carries real weight given how long she has been absent from the show.

Coming off the more personal, grounded tone of Weapon X, Lies, and DVDs, episode 6 looks positioned to keep that intimate energy going rather than jumping straight back into large-scale timeline chaos. With only nine episodes total this season, three fewer than season one’s ten-episode run, every installment from here carries more weight toward the larger Apocalypse-focused endgame.

The second half of the season is already mapped out, with episode 7 on July 29, episode 8 on August 5, and the season finale on August 12.
