Tires Season 3 gave Phil a girlfriend who burns sage in the break room, and viewers want to know exactly who she is. That’s Bonnie, played by Rachel Blanchard, and she’s already the most disruptive new addition to Valley Forge Automotive Center.
Phil, played by Thomas Haden Church, joined the show in Season 2 as the wealthy and immature owner of the family business, mostly there to make life harder for Will as he tries to keep the shop running.
Season 3 hands Phil something he’s never had on the show before: an actual relationship. Bonnie walks in as his warm, eccentric new girlfriend, and she brings her spiritual healing practice straight into a grease-stained tire shop.
Blanchard is a 7th Heaven alum best known more recently for playing Susannah Fisher in The Summer I Turned Pretty. Her casting was announced alongside three other Season 3 additions, Garret Dillahunt, Anjelica Bette Fellini, and Matt Walsh, as the show widens its world beyond the core Valley Forge crew.
Why Bonnie’s Rituals Are Causing Chaos at the Shop
The show doesn’t waste time setting up the culture clash. A tire chain built on grease, engine noise, and Shane’s chaos is about the last place anyone would expect spiritual healing rituals to take hold, and that friction is the entire point of the character.
Bonnie isn’t just Phil’s love interest standing quietly in the background, she’s actively reshaping how the shop operates, whether the guys who work there want her to or not.
That tension fits where Tires is heading as a show. What started as a sketch-driven workplace comedy has been steadily building out fuller characters and ongoing arcs across its three seasons, and giving Phil a real relationship is part of that shift. It gives Church’s character an emotional life that exists outside the shop for the first time, something the show hasn’t done with Phil before.

What Bonnie’s Arrival Means for Phil in Tires Season 3
Bonnie’s arrival changes the dynamic for everyone at Valley Forge, not just Phil. Her rituals colliding with the shop’s usual disorder is already a setup the trailers leaned into, and it gives the season a running source of conflict that doesn’t rely on Shane’s usual antics to drive the story.
Jamie Lynn Sigler also joined the expanded Season 3 cast, though her character hasn’t been officially detailed yet. Between Bonnie’s arrival and the shop’s other new faces, this season is clearly betting on more personal stakes for its characters instead of just workplace chaos.
