Isagi has dragged Japan to within one goal of England, and the question hanging over Chapter 367 is whether he can ever do it again. The chapter answers it with very little football and a lot of thinking.

Chapter 367 picks up the moment Isagi’s first-post volley off a Hiori cross lands, improving the score to England 3, Japan 2. But Isagi barely celebrates before he turns the goal into homework, because he already knows the same trick will not work on Fox twice.

How Did Isagi Turn One Goal Into Three Gambles?

Isagi traces the goal back through the plays that built it. The blind-spot tackle was a defender gamble that could have been a foul, and the long pass built around Chigiri’s top speed was a midfielder gamble. Running in trusting a pass would arrive was a forward gamble.

Together they created the lucky spot that Hiori’s cross found, and Isagi decides the result was never luck. The pieces lock into what creator Muneyuki Kaneshiro calls the Yoichi Isagi position, with his direct shot as the established zero-to-one.

He plans to keep playing every role at 100% while gambling on opponents, teammates and himself. To be honest, this is smart writing, because a goal that looked like instinct becomes a repeatable system and the jigsaw visual sells it. The catch is how much it asks of everyone around him.

What Is the Difference Between Manufacture and Creation?

In the locker room, Isagi says Fox’s idea of zero-to-one feels different from his own. Fox takes proven ideas and makes them better, which gets summed up as a manufactured-style zero-to-one. Kaneshiro drives it home with a chef cooking from ingredients that already exist.

Blue Lock works from the opposite end, since the first thing the team learned was to find its own weapons and make something from zero. That carries a higher chance of failure, but the payoff is bigger.

The smartphone comparison makes the split clear. Inventing the phone was creation, and the upgraded models are manufacture. Manufacture has high certainty and low explosive power, while creation fails more often and changes everything when it lands.

I think the analogy is a little on the nose, but it works. Isagi’s own direct shot is built from existing ingredients too, so the line between the two styles is blurrier than the debate suggests.

Can Fox Bury Isagi’s Possibility Before It Is Perfected?

Fox watches on and is rattled, calling the method creepy and unlike anything from a proper team.

“That method has never been used in the history of soccer!!” he states.

Fox argues that self-centered play ruins a formation and writes the goal off as a fluke, pointing out that Teddy Knight had already repelled the shot once. Then a failed attempt changes his read. He realizes the playstyle is still a work in progress with no instruction manual, and he sets out to exploit that.

“I just need to bury your possibility myself,” he argues.

Isagi knows Fox has a point. Not even he can say how strong the style is, and his teammates are still learning how to use it, so his only option is to fully evolve and perfect it during this match.

The irony is that Fox calls the style self-centered when the goal needed Chigiri and Hiori to work. The second half is now a race between a style that needs time and a rival trying to end it before it gets any. Blue Lock picks up with that second half in Chapter 368 next Tuesday.
