Chapter 269 left Sakamoto in the worst spot he’s been in the entire series, and Sakamoto Days chapter 270 is where fans find out if that cliffhanger was as final as it looked.
Chapter 269 closed on a gut punch. Nagumo told the JAA emergency team there was nothing left to do for Sakamoto, citing intestinal tract damage and an abdominal wall laceration that made even an immediate operation pointless. Shin refused to accept it, insisting he could still sense Sakamoto’s thoughts, while Boiled and Nagumo both admitted from afar that they felt guilty for not reaching him sooner.
But Kindaka wasn’t buying the tragedy either. He noted that Atari’s read on Sakamoto’s death and the awakening of a true beast felt too clean for a fight this brutal, and Kanaguri backed him up with the reminder that the story isn’t over until the credits roll. That kind of doubt from the series’ own characters is usually a signal that Yuuto Suzuki isn’t done twisting the knife.
When is Sakamoto Days Chapter 270 Releasing?
Sakamoto Days chapter 270 drops on Sunday, August 2, 2026, following the manga’s usual Weekly Shonen Jump slot. Pacific Time gets it at 8 a.m., Central at 10 a.m., and Eastern readers can dive in at 11 a.m., all on Sunday, August 2. UK fans see it at 4 p.m. BST, Central Europe follows at 5 p.m., and India’s release window lands at 8:30 p.m. the same day.
The Philippines gets the chapter at 11 p.m. Sunday, right before Japan flips over to Monday, August 3 at 12 a.m. JST, with Australian Central time landing half an hour after that.
Chapter 270 will be live on the Shonen Jump app, VIZ Media‘s official site, and Shueisha’s MANGA Plus, keeping the same simultaneous worldwide rollout the series has used since it began serializing.
The stakes around this drop are higher than usual, too. The editor’s note attached to chapter 269 flagged that the other two personalities are set to manifest, and outlets tracking the manga’s pacing have noted that Sakamoto Days is now down to roughly 4 chapters left before the series wraps entirely.
That puts chapter 270 in a strange position. It has to answer whether Sakamoto is really gone, address what those other personalities actually mean for the fight against Uzuki and Gaku, and still move the story toward its ending with almost no room left to stall. Given how chapter 269 ended, expect very little of this chapter to feel like a breather.
