Shin steered the fight onto a soap opera set, and Sakamoto turned ordinary household objects against Uzuki while remembering his family. The chapter ended with one big finishing blow that sent Uzuki crashing through the set, and his fate is still unclear. So, here is everything you need to know about Sakamoto Days Chapter 282, including its release date, global launch times, and what to expect next.

What Happened in Sakamoto Days Chapter 281?

Chapter 281 opened with Shin on the phone, telling Sakamoto to take Uzuki out and that he was now on his home turf, which finally worked in his favor. Looking at the closet, the TV and the cabinet full of dishes, Sakamoto pictured his home life with Aoi and Hana. The set also reminded him of how his real home was destroyed in the bombing back in Chapter 206, “Forbidden Zone.”
That moment of vulnerability gave Uzuki an opening. He jabbed Sakamoto in the throat and kicked him away, and Sakamoto’s wounds reopened. Boil joked that this was bound to happen no matter how hard-boiled he is, while Shishiba wondered what Sakamoto was even doing.
Sakamoto caught Uzuki’s hand and admitted he once thought strength was the only way to solve anything, and that destroying things used to prove it, “kind of like you, now.” Uzuki, still fighting as Prime Sakamoto, answered that an assassin destroys the enemy and carries out the mission. Sakamoto replied that this identity was the one he left behind, and that it was time to finally end the battle.
From there, each household object came with a memory of Hana. A swivel chair she spun with her legs tucked in became a kick that cost Uzuki a shoe and sent him slipping on LEGO blocks. A drawer that pops open when slammed too hard, the same one Hana got wrong while learning to put the laundry away, was used to trap Uzuki. A balloon rocket from their playtime blocked his view, and a hanger on his head made it spin in what Sakamoto calls the “hanger reflex.”
Between memories, Sakamoto reflected that regular life is full of fragile things and people shouldn’t exert themselves too hard, remembering how he learned to cook and put Hana to sleep step by step.
Refusing to let his past self keep breaking things, Sakamoto finished with a giant slingshot launch that sent Uzuki crashing across the film set. Boil, Heisuke, Tenkyu, Natsuki Seba, Shishiba, Osaragi, Kamihate and Atari all watched, with Shin smiling at the end. Sakamoto said goodbye to his past as Uzuki hit the set hard, and the chapter stopped on a cliffhanger, leaving Uzuki’s fate unresolved.
What to Expect From Sakamoto Days Chapter 282

Sakamoto’s reliance on Prime Sakamoto since the JAA Jail Arc has put him in the same dark place as Kei Uzuki, with both clinging to strength as a way to avoid something painful.
For Sakamoto, it is the fear of losing his family, and for Uzuki it is his trauma. Uzuki’s revolution has become violence for its own sake, which clashes with the peace Rion wanted. However, Chapter 281 had Sakamoto step away from that mindset, and Chapter 282 should show whether Uzuki can do the same.
The most likely result is that this is the end of the final battle. Uzuki’s arc should get a proper resolution, and the damage bill for the set, already including a 200-million-yen Buddha and a billion-yen T. rex robot, should be a good gag. The film crew, who kept shouting that none of this was in the script, are due a reaction.
The bigger question is what comes after. Many expect Volume 31 to be the final volume, which would leave around two to four chapters. If that holds, the next chapters could settle Uzuki’s fate first, then reveal what happened to Nagumo and give the series an ending.
