Sakamoto is now fighting his own past in Sakamoto Days. Prime Sakamoto has taken over Uzuki’s body, and Chapter 276 shows just how dangerous that copy is.
Prime Sakamoto is a personality modeled on Taro Sakamoto at his assassin peak. Uzuki’s fractured mind generates new identities to fight with, and after Takamura and Rion Akao, this is the most dangerous one yet.
Why Is Prime Sakamoto a Fake Personality?

The label fits because Prime Sakamoto is a copy of the real man, and Chapter 275, titled “Baton”, shows the copy taking over. Inside Uzuki’s mind, the original Kei Uzuki is shot in the head from behind by the fabricated Prime Sakamoto, who then takes control of the body, with the chapter strongly suggesting the original Uzuki is gone for good.
Rion’s persona carried real attachments, and her love for her niece Akira was enough to stop Uzuki’s attack in Chapter 274. Prime Sakamoto carries no such restraint. The moment he takes control, he goes straight after Akira, forcing Shin to step in.
Can Prime Sakamoto Beat the Real Sakamoto?

Chapter 276 brings the real Taro Sakamoto back, though he is still injured and Akira works on his wound while the others buy time. Nagumo has already been taken out, so the defenders are running short on heavy hitters. Shin, Kippei and Tenkyu team up against Uzuki, with Shiina guarding Akira and Sakamoto.
Uzuki knocks Shin back with a single punch and resists a kick from Kippei more than expected. Nobody in the group is landing a clean finish.
We think the arc is built around that gap. Today’s Sakamoto is a retired shopkeeper who has put on weight and lost much of his old edge, while Prime Sakamoto is the killer he used to be. Beating the copy means beating the version of himself he spent years burying.
That makes this more than a power struggle. Uzuki has turned Sakamoto’s peaceful new life into the target, and the final stretch of the story now asks whether he can leave his old self behind for good.
Sakamoto Days Chapter 277 releses next Sunday.
