Chapter 37 pushed the war against the sentient Shinju trees to a boiling point, leaving Sarada in captivity and Shikamaru’s position hanging by a thread. Chapter 38 arrives next week with an official preview that already points somewhere unexpected.
Serialized monthly in Shueisha’s V Jump under the supervision of Masashi Kishimoto, with art by Mikio Ikemoto, Boruto: Two Blue Vortex keeps its momentum going in Ocober. Here is the release date, the global launch schedule, a quick recap, and a look at what the first preview page shows.

Boruto: Two Blue Vortex Chapters 36 and 37 Recap

Chapter 36 raised the stakes inside the village when Code kidnapped Sarada just as Amado finished adjusting Kashin Koji’s neural state to amplify his Prescience ability. At the same time, Kobu, speaking for the Land of Fire’s Daimyo, pressed his formal inquiry accusing Shikamaru Nara of treasonous collusion with Boruto.
Chapter 37 returned from the August hiatus with Boruto searching for a way to reach Sarada. Koji foresaw a disastrous timeline in which Boruto’s rescue attempt lets Momoshiki reassert control over his body, and he chose not to tell Boruto, hoping to avoid steering events toward that outcome. Back at the Divine Tree hideout, Code and Hidari also turned on each other over Sarada.
The chapter closed on a political cliffhanger. Kobu confronted Shikamaru with testimony from the sensory ninja Nishi that ties him to secret communications with Boruto. A formal report has gone to the Fire Daimyo, and Shikamaru’s dismissal as Eighth Hokage now only awaits final sign-off.
Boruto: Two Blue Vortex Chapter 38 Spoilers and Official Preview

The first preview page from the chapter appeared on the official Naruto website on October 14. It shows Kawaki inside the Daikokuten dimension, where he sealed Naruto and Hinata at the end of the original series. Kawaki sits among the floating cubes and addresses the imprisoned couple with a line that suggests regret.
“Sorry… for keeping you locked up for so long.”

Naruto and Hinata have been sealed inside Daikokuten since Chapter 77 of the original Boruto: Naruto Next Generations in January 2023, which makes this their first appearance in more than three years.
The preview page stops before showing how either of them responds, and Kawaki’s apology is the only real context it offers. Whether he intends to free them or is simply facing what he did remains unconfirmed.
The timing is what makes the scene stand out. Kashin Koji’s vision has already established that Momoshiki could overtake Boruto, and Naruto is the one person with the weight to pull his son back from that edge. I think Kawaki’s visit is a sign that the story may be moving the older generation back into play.
What to Expect in Chapter 38
Sarada remains captive, but Boruto has a route to her thanks to the Flying Raijin-marked earring she deliberately left behind. The dilemma comes from Koji’s concealed vision, since rushing in could crack Boruto’s mental defenses and hand Momoshiki the opening he needs.
Kawaki’s Daikokuten visit adds a second thread to the chapter. Chapter 38 will show whether Boruto risks an immediate rescue, and how the sealed couple fits into a story that is running out of room for delays.
