Jiro and Rago’s fight against the mononoke is only getting more dangerous, and fans are already counting down to the next chapter of the story.
The anime adaptation of Tsuyoshi Takaki’s manga has been on a steady weekly roll since its summer premiere, bringing the shinobi-meets-supernatural-cat premise to life through 100studio’s animation and Yutaka Yamada’s score.
Jiro Azuma, the ninja-trained protagonist who can talk to animals, has spent the season trying to protect Rago, the injured cat who turns out to be the legendary Black Star of Doom, while the Bureau of Espionage works to keep him out of the wrong hands. With five episodes already establishing the stakes between rival factions and Japanese folklore-inspired threats, the show has built real momentum heading into its back half.
‘Black Torch’ Episode 6 Release Date and Time
Black Torch episode 6 is set to release on Saturday, August 8, 2026. New episodes drop at 6:00 a.m. PT / 9:00 a.m. ET, so fans on the West Coast will want to set an early alarm if they plan to watch the moment it lands.
The episode releases with both English subtitles and an English dub, meaning subbed and dubbed viewers get their versions at the same time rather than waiting on a delayed dub schedule. That consistency has held since the show’s July 4 premiere, and there is no indication episode 6 will break from it.
