Leaving the empire to any of them guarantees the family’s total extinction once Conrad falls. By subtly poisoning Conrad and neutralizing the other key contenders around him, Maeve systematically cuts off every unstable element to prevent the final power vacuum from igniting an internal bloodbath.
What Is Maeve’s Master Plan for the Harrigan Empire?
In my view, Maeve isn’t motivated by simple cruelty. This is a calculated palace coup born of sheer self-preservation.
She recognizes what the men refuse to accept that the traditional Harrigan playbook of intimidation and street muscle is obsolete against modern corporate syndicates. Conrad’s stubborn pride and Kevin’s volatile tantrums are running the family straight into the ground.
By slowly poisoning Conrad and weeding out the unreliable heirs, Maeve is positioning herself as the sole surviving authority capable of sitting at the negotiating table. She isn’t burning the empire down but rather pruning the dead weight so she can broker peace on her own pragmatic terms before rivals like Frankie Cooper strip the Harrigans of everything they own. It is the ultimate act of treason, but ironically, it might be the only move capable of saving the family name from total ruin.
